How the Laboratory sector works

Independent labs, hospital-owned labs, and hospital-branch labs โ€” how each is structured, and what every laboratory on MadiFair includes.

Three kinds of laboratory

TypeStructure
Independent labRuns entirely on its own โ€” own admin, staff, test catalog, pricing, and report sign-off. Not attached to any hospital.
Hospital-owned labSits directly under a hospital's main administration. The hospital's dashboard sees consolidated volume, revenue, and staff for this lab.
Hospital-branch labBelongs to one specific branch of a multi-branch hospital. Orders, stock, and staff are scoped to that branch, and roll up to the hospital above it.

What every laboratory includes

Order flow, start to finish

  1. Doctor prescribes a test, or a patient books one directly at a lab.
  2. Lab reception creates the order and takes the sample (or schedules home collection where offered).
  3. Technician enters the result, or it comes in automatically from a connected analyzer.
  4. A verifying doctor reviews and signs off.
  5. The report unlocks for the patient and the referring doctor, with the QR code active for pharmacies/other providers to confirm authenticity.
AmendmentsIf a result needs correction after release, it's logged as an amendment with the reason and both versions kept โ€” nothing is silently overwritten.
